Thank you for contacting me. I received many messages about this scholarship and the preparation process. Therefore, this blog will be all about the "Kinsei Sangyo Co., Ltd. X CMU" Internship". I will answer all of the questions in this blog.

Kinsei Sangyo Co., Ltd. X CMU Internship

1. How did you know about this internship opportunity?

Well, I did discover about this scholarship when I was the sophomore (2nd year university student). I have a chance to talk with P'Airi—the latest generation of ISNE intern at the company before me. As a die-hard AKB48 fan and Japanese culture enthusiasts, I started planning my path since that moment.

2. Do you need any Japanese knowledge before applying?

Nope! Japanese language isn't required at all.

しかし、日本語を話せれば、良くなるかもと思います。笑笑笑笑笑笑
(But, if you can speak Japanese, it could be better. lol)

3. Where do you apply?

That's a nice question. For every CMU Engineering Student, I would really love to recommend you guys to follow the Facebook page of Chiang Mai International Engineering School (CM-IES) as they always post the scholarship there.

This internship for the first semester opens for application around November, so please get ready for that! The required documents are:

• Introduction Letter (in English)

• Introduction Letter (in Japanese)

• Your English Transcript (get one from https://reg.cmu.ac.th)

• Your Resume

4. May I see your resume for references?

It's a little bit shy to show as my resume isn't that good. But in case you are curious, you can look at the URL of this website, remove "japanblog" at the beginning, that's my resume site. You can click on my 3D avatar to open my resume there. Oh, and here's my introduction letter.

I would recommend you to use AI wisely. Use it to assist, do not use it to write.

5. Do I need a "good resume" for this internship?

That's another nice question. I understand why do you ask about this. My answer would be that it is not really necessary to build a nice resume, but it is better to use the one that shows who you are. My resume is not the best for this field—more like political student than an ISNE student. However, I can connect the point of them into one single line within this resume.

For ISNE students, you may have heard my oral presentation on how to survive the third year. That's totally it. The course path and coursework alone may not be enough anymore, you need extracurricular activities.

Step-by-step Guide

1. Ask yourself if you want to do internship/co-op outside of Thailand or not.

This is the most important step. Working overseas may be harder for you in many aspects. Could be good if you consult with your own family if they are ok with that. And last, ask yourself if you really want this opportunity, 'cause

Knowing what you want really does matter, so that you won't regret it later

2.Recheck with your study plan

As the internship/co-op takes one whole semester, please recheck your own curriculum for eligibility. For Information Systems and Network Engineering (ISNE), you only have the co-op plan to be eligible for this. Therefore, you need to go to co-op plan for your 4th year's 1st semester to be blank for you to come here. For Information Systems and Cybersecurity (ISCE), you also need co-op plan—but it will be in the second semester.

For other majors, please recheck with your own plan/department.

Then now, you have two path to choose

Semester 1 (June - November) and Semester 2 (November - May)

If the first two step is passed, let's proceed to the next!

3. Ace academically, sharpen your soft skills

It is undeniable to study harder since internship/co-op is where you put your real knowledge into the real working environment. And in order to satisfy the working part, you need a good fundamental knowledge. Acknowledge the gasification technique that Kinsei Sangyo Co., Ltd. use, learn about the waste furnace, and don't forget to put your engineering mindset onto it.

Soft skills are more than important, it helps you adapt to the environment while also communicate with each other better. Despite me who has less knowledge in Japanese, I could say that I survive with my own soft skills for 80% of the time. So, it shouldn't be a waste to start practicing it.

3. Be yourself

The way the topic is very broad, I would recommend you to be yourself, and I am not even joking.

Kinsei Sangyo Co., Ltd. may be a company that contains workers; however, they did not expect us to work perfectly and put too much effort on working. The main point of this program is sure to work, while also learning the Japan culture and environment.
